Assigning user group for LDAP users?

How Can You Manage LDAP User Groups in Ezeelogin: Assignment, Mapping, and Default Settings?

Overview: This article describes how to assign, change, and map LDAP user groups in the Gateway server, including configuring automatic group assignments and setting default user groups.

1. How to assign a user group for LDAP users?

  • Is it possible to change the user group for LDAP users?
  • Is it possible to use the same group name assigned in LDAP in Gateway server user groups as well?

Yes, there is an automatic group assignment from the LDAP feature in Ezeelogin. You need to give LDAP group attributes in LDAP settings.

Then during the user’s first login, the value in the LDAP group attribute for the user entry in LDAP will be checked against the user groups in the gateway server. If it finds a group in the gateway server that exactly matches the group in LDAP, the user will be assigned to that group. Otherwise, the user will be assigned to the "Default user group" configured in the settings.

2. How to change the default user group that a user is assigned?
